Violent video games, consumption commercials, oversexed teen magazines and novels, anti-family television programming, misogynistic music videos, and violent movies have come to make many Generation Y children violent and aggressive, obese, sexual too soon, and lacking the social skills to make friends and to positively resolve conflicts. No other generation in history has ever been bombarded with the negative media imagery to which this generation has been exposed. This workshop discusses the pervasive problem of negative media and how caregivers can reduce the negative effects of media by instituting a media diet for children.
