991-25 Dealing with the Effects of Complex Trauma: How to Maximize a Child’s Sense of Safety
Date: Saturday, September 19, 2020
Time: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Facilitator: Ann Bagley
Location: CORNERSTONE BUILDING 402 2nd Street S.E. Canton, Ohio 44702
Trainings being held at our agency are only for foster parents licensed through Stark County.
The first essential element of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) Trauma Toolkit is "to maximize the child's sense of safety." It is not enough for the child to be safe; felt safety only registers in the child’s physiology and neurochemistry if the child knows he/she is safe. This workshop will help participants to understand the impact of complex trauma on feelings of safety and how to apply the correcting principles of trust-based relational intervention.
