Jerry Coleman, J.D., became Assistant Deputy Director of Legal Services in May of 2016. He has spent his entire legal career in child welfare. Jerry served as a Summit County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for dependency, neglect and abuse actions from 1999 until joining Stark County Job and Family Services in 2001 as a staff attorney. In that position he was responsible for prosecuting dependency, neglect and abuse actions. In 2007 Jerry became an attorney supervisor in the Children Services Division and in 2013 he was named Chief Legal Counsel for that division.
Jerry grew up in Orrville, Ohio and graduated from Orrville High School. He graduated from the University of Akron where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Juris Doctorate degree.
