Stark County JFS SNAP Benefits Updates Related to the Federal Government Shutdown
As a result of February SNAP benefits being issued early, Ohio is adjusting the March benefit issuance schedule. Eligible SNAP families will receive half of their March benefits on February 22, 2019, and the rest of the benefits will be issued on the normal March issuance date.
We hope this statewide adjustment, which shortens the time between receiving Feb. and March benefits, will help families meet their food needs.
For households determined eligible for SNAP benefits as of Monday, January 14th, February SNAP benefits will be available on January 16th.
Households not determined eligible for SNAP benefits as of Monday, January 14th, will not receive February SNAP benefits on January 16th.
Stark JFS will continue to process SNAP applications and benefits will be issued after January 16th through January 30th.
We will continue to post updates on our website and Facebook. You may also receive automated calls with the above information.
February SNAP was delivered early. Customers who use SNAP EBT should keep in mind that February food dollars will be issued today, January 16, 2019. This means that you may have two months’ worth of food dollars on your account this month. No food dollars will be added in February. The early food dollars are meant to help with next month’s food. We encourage our SNAP-participating customers to plan their purchases carefully so that they have money available to meet their food needs.
At this time, Stark County JFS does not anticipate problems with OWF cash, childcare or Medicaid programs. If the situation changes, updates will be posted on our website and Facebook page.
