This workshop is filled with practical strategies for empowering successful families who have adopted or are fostering transculturally. Concrete tools are provided to build cultural identity based on predictable developmental stages. Parents will learn how to enhance cultural connectedness, how to talk frankly with children and youth about cultural issues, and how to advocate for youth in a manner that is respectful, reflective, and sensitive to cultural diversity. Sibling and extended family issues are explored within a framework of positive and successful family building.
